Welcome to Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond home page. The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond includes parents, family members, friends and professionals working together to improve the quality of life of persons with Down syndrome.

Our children are very important members of our families and our community. We are proud of them and we share this pride with all who join with us.

We provide access to current and accurate information on Down syndrome. We also foster programs that focus on education, community services, public awareness, medical issues, research advocacy, legal issues and parenting.

Given the benefit of loving homes, early intervention programs, special education and appropriate medical care and positive public attitudes as well as advances in medicine and better knowledge of physical and mental aspects of Down Syndrome; Down Syndrome children are more like than unlike other children passing through the same stages of development, only more slowly.

Check our helpful links section for other sites on the web featuring Down syndrome information.
